वक्फ बोर्डाच्या निधीवरून निर्माण झालेले वादंग
दरम्यान, काही महिन्यांपूर्वी वक्फ बोर्डाला 10 कोटींचा निधी देण्यात आल्याचा जीआर (शासन निर्णय) प्रसिद्ध झाल्यामुळे या प्रकरणाने अधिक राजकीय वळण घेतले होते. त्या काळात राज्यात काळजीवाहू सरकार होते, आणि तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे यांनी हा निधी दिल्याचा आदेश काढल्याची बातमी होती. मात्र, जीआर ही प्रशासकीय चूक असल्याचे स्पष्ट करत मुख्य सचिव सुजाता सौनिक यांनी तो रद्द केला. या घडामोडींमुळे राजकीय वातावरण देखील तापले होते.
